Apple Preparing Bold 20th Anniversary iPhone Redesign with Foldable Option

Apple Plans Major iPhone Redesign for 20th Anniversary
According to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple is preparing a significant redesign for the iPhone in 2027, marking the device's 20th anniversary. This redesign will include:
- A foldable version of the iPhone
- A bold new Pro model with extensive use of glass
For the iPhone X launch in 2017, Apple removed the home button and introduced an all-glass design, which set the path for technology for the next decade. Similarly, the upcoming redesign is expected to be a major milestone, though it may not fundamentally change how users interact with the device.
While rumors suggest that the iPhone 17 Pro will feature more glass in its chassis and iOS 19 will have a new glass-like design, these changes are likely precursors to the 20th anniversary models. Apple has been rumored to be planning an all-glass iPhone for several years, with varying timelines.
Analyst Jeff Pu recently claimed that the iPhone fold and a folding iPad would be released in 2026, while other sources like Ming-Chi Kuo have suggested 2024. A delay to 2027 is possible, aligning with rumors of a foldable MacBook Pro for the same year.
If the redesign is unveiled as expected in September 2027, Apple will be introducing a folding iPhone eight years after Samsung's first Galaxy Fold.
