Apple is reportedly in the late testing phase for a new M5 iPad Pro, with production expected to start later this year.

Apple's M5 iPad Pro in Late Testing Phase, Production to Begin Later This Year Apple is reportedly working on the new M5 iPad Pro, which is currently in the 'late testing' phase and is expected to start production by the second half of 2023. The device is anticipated to be a specification update featuring the new M5 chip, without significant design changes. Codenamed J817, J818, J820, and J821, this iteration follows last year’s iPad Pro redesign that introduced OLED displays, a thinner profile, and a landscape-oriented front camera.

Apple is also developing an M6 iPad Pro, which will feature in-house modems but won't be released until 2027. Additionally, the company is working on new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models powered by the M5 chip, with no major design overhauls planned for these devices. A significant redesign of the MacBook Pro is expected in 2026.
