Apple Releases Updates for Older iOS, iPadOS, and macOS Versions
On March 31, 2025, alongside the release of the latest versions (iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS 15.4), Apple also issued updates for older versions of its operating systems. These updates are primarily aimed at maintaining security, performance, and compatibility on legacy hardware that cannot run the latest software.
iOS Updates:
- iOS 16.7.11 (build 20H360): For iPhone 8 and Plus, and iPhone X.
- iOS 15.8.4 (build 19H390): Compatible with iPhone 6s and Plus, iPhone 7 and Plus, and the second-generation iPhone SE.
iPadOS Updates:
- iPadOS 17.7.6 (21H423): For the second-gen 12.9-inch iPad Pro, 10.5-inch iPad Pro, and iPad 6.
- iPadOS 16.7.11 (20H360): Supports the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, first-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and iPad Gen 5.
- iPadOS 15.8.4 (19H390): Designed for the iPad mini 4 and iPad Air 2.
macOS Updates:
- macOS 14.7.5 (23H527): Supports the 2019 iMac, 2017 iMac Pro, 2018 MacBook Air, 2018 MacBook Pro, 2018 Mac mini, 2019 Mac Pro, and Mac Studio.
- macOS 13.7.5 (22H527): Compatible with the 2017 iMac, 2017 iMac Pro, 2017 MacBook, 2018 MacBook Air, 2017 MacBook Pro, 2018 Mac mini, 2019 Mac Pro, and Mac Studio.
