Apple Should Merge Spotlight and Type to Siri on iOS and macOS

The option of interacting with Siri through typing instead of voice commands is not new, however, with iOS 18 and macOS 15, Siri has a new interface that makes entering text prompts much more intuitive.

Apple has significantly improved Siri in iOS 18 and macOS 15, integrating it with ChatGPT and soon with Apple Intelligence. The author believes that Siri's new typing interface, which allows users to interact with the virtual assistant through text prompts, should be combined with Spotlight. Both features have similar interfaces and serve pretty much the same purpose. Merging them would make the user experience more efficient and less redundant. However, since the new Siri has just been introduced and there is still a lot more to come, Apple might prefer waiting before merging Siri and Spotlight.
