Apple Shuffles Top Execs: Mike Rockwell Takes Over Siri as John Giannandrea Steps Down

Executive Shakeup at Apple: John Giannandrea Out as Siri Chief, Mike Rockwell Takes Over
Apple has announced a significant executive change aimed at revitalizing its AI and Siri initiatives. John Giannandrea, who was leading both the AI efforts and the Siri team, is being replaced by Mike Rockwell, the former head of the Apple Vision Pro project. This move comes amid criticism over the slow progress of Apple's AI programs and the delayed rollout of Siri improvements.
CEO Tim Cook has reportedly lost confidence in Giannandrea’s ability to drive product development effectively. As part of this reorganization, Rockwell will now report directly to software chief Craig Federighi. Meanwhile, Paul Meade, who previously worked on hardware engineering for the Vision Pro, will take over as the head of that project.
This shakeup highlights Apple's commitment to addressing its AI shortcomings and accelerating progress in key areas such as Siri.
