Apple Stalls Fortnite's App Store Return Amid Ongoing Legal Battle

Epic Games resubmits Fortnite to the App Store but faces another roadblock as Apple refuses to take action until ongoing litigation concludes.

Epic Games has resubmitted Fortnite to the App Store in the U.S., following a court ruling that prohibited Apple from charging a 27% commission on payments made through external services. However, Apple is not taking immediate action on Epic's submission due to ongoing litigation between the two companies. In a letter to Epic Games, Apple stated it will not reinstate the developer account or allow Fortnite to return to the U.S. App Store until after the Ninth Circuit court rules on its pending request for a partial stay of the new injunction. As a result, Epic Games has requested that the courts compel Apple to permit the relaunch of Fortnite on the U.S. App Store under the new payment rules.
