Apple targeting March release for wall-mounted smart display with Apple Intelligence

According to a report from Bloomberg, Apple is targeting a March release for its first Apple Intelligence-powered smart home device, which will be a wall-mounted display. The product, codenamed J490, will feature a square display roughly 6 inches in size and resemble a traditional home security panel. It will have the ability to sense how many people are nearby through external sensors that could be placed in wall outlets. The user interface is said to look like a blend of the iPhone’s StandBy mode and watchOS. The device, which runs on a new operating system codenamed Pebble, will include a customizable home screen with widgets, key home controls and an iPhone-like home screen grid of software icons. Apps available on it will include Safari, FaceTime, Apple Music, and Apple News.
