Apple TV+ Stands Out with Two Must-Watch New Comedies in Streaming
Apple TV+ Showcases Two Top New Comedies in Streaming
Apple TV+ is making waves with the release of two new highly rated comedy series: The Studio and Murderbot. Both shows are critically acclaimed and offer unique comedic perspectives.
The Studio
The Studio stars Seth Rogen as Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of Continental Studios. The show is a cringe-comedy that delves into the high-stakes world of Hollywood, where infighting executives and narcissistic artists are the norm. Alongside Rogen, the cast features Catherine O'Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and special appearances by major Hollywood figures, including Netflix's CEO. The series explores Matt’s journey as he navigates the challenging terrain of creating successful films, with each episode presenting a new opportunity for either triumph or disaster.
The first season of The Studio has nine episodes available, with the finale set to air on May 21.
Murderbot
Murderbot, based on Martha Wells' Hugo and Nebula Award-winning book series, is a sci-fi comedy that follows an unlikely hero—an android security construct played by Alexander Skarsgård. Despite its name, Murderbot is more interested in binge-watching TV shows than engaging with humans. The show's humor comes from Murderbot’s inner monologue, which reveals his true feelings about the humans he protects and his desire for a simple life of solitude.
Murderbot premiered on Apple TV+ with its first two episodes, with new episodes releasing weekly on Fridays until July 11. Critics have praised the show, giving it a glowing 98% Rotten Tomatoes score.
Both The Studio and Murderbot are available now on Apple TV+, which offers a subscription service for $9.99 per month with a growing library of hit shows like Ted Lasso, Severance, The Morning Show, Silo, and Shrinking.
