Apple Watch Series 10: Five Watch Faces Now Fully Leverage Upgraded Display for Real-Time Second Updates

Apple Watch Series 10 Display Enhancements
The Apple Watch Series 10 introduces a significant enhancement to its always-on display, allowing the seconds hand to update even when the screen is dimmed. This feature was initially supported by only three watch faces at launch: Flux, Reflections, and an updated version of Activity Digital.
- Flux: Displays seconds with a vertically rising line that continues ticking in dim mode.
- Reflections: Features traditional analog hands with a sweeping seconds hand when the screen is fully on and tick updates in dim mode. It comes in full-screen and circular styles with complication slots.
- Activity Digital: Maintains digital second updates even in always-on mode, a feature previously lost in earlier models.
Since then, two new faces have been added to the list: Unity Rhythm and Pride Harmony, both featuring analog hands that update seconds accurately in all display states.
Despite these advancements, over 40 watch faces still do not support this enhanced capability, highlighting a need for Apple to bring full utilization of the hardware to more faces. The article concludes with a hope that future updates, like watchOS 12, will extend this feature to all available watch faces.
