Apple's Custom Networking Chip Set to Debut in New Apple TV and HomePod Mini in 2025
Mark Gurman reports that Apple is working on a new Apple TV and HomePod mini for release in 2025, and they will be the first devices to use Apple's custom networking chip.

Mark Gurman reports for Bloomberg that Apple is planning to replace Broadcom's combined Bluetooth and Wi-Fi chips with its own custom-designed solution starting next year, codenamed 'Proxima'. This chip will be manufactured by TSMC and is set to first appear in refreshed Apple TV and HomePod mini hardware in 2025. The technology is expected to make its way to the iPhone later that same year, with iPad and Mac integration following in 2026.
