Apple's Generous Donation Empowers Rural Teachers and Students in China
Apple has announced a new donation to the China Development Research Foundation (CDRF) aimed at expanding education and environmental projects in rural China. This contribution will support the 'Zhihui Gardener' project, which was launched in 2022 with an initial donation of 50 million yuan ($6.9 million). Apple's total commitment to CDRF since 2020 is 350 million yuan ($48.3 million). The project aims to provide teaching tools and training for teachers, benefiting over 120,000 educators in 30 counties across the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Guizhou Province over the next two years. Apple CEO Tim Cook emphasized the importance of education in creating opportunities and leveraging digital technology to revolutionize teaching and learning. The CDRF's Secretary-General Fang Jin thanked Apple for its support, highlighting the practical changes brought by digital technology in rural classrooms.
