Apple's Home Hub Delayed Until 2026: Awaiting Advanced Siri Features
Apple's Home Hub Delayed Until 2026 Due to Siri Improvements
Apple has pushed the launch of its Home Hub, a standalone display device separate from the HomePod, back to 2026. This delay is attributed to the need for a revamped version of Siri with contextual app data access. The Home Hub, which has been rumored for years, was initially expected to be released soon. However, the underlying Apple Intelligence features tied to Siri have been delayed due to accuracy concerns.
Apple's recent issues with notification summaries, where the feature produced incorrect news headlines, have likely influenced this decision. The company is aiming for a much higher level of accuracy for its contextual AI features, which are crucial for user trust. Developers have had access to the app intent system since iOS 18.2, but the results were only accurate 80% of the time.
The initial Home Hub model is expected to be a simple square display that can show music playback, weather updates, and step-by-step recipes from Apple News. A follow-up product with more advanced features, including a robotic arm powered by technology demonstrated earlier in 2025, is also planned.
Apple needs to improve Siri's reputation before launching the Home Hub to avoid it being labeled as 'broken' on day one. Therefore, the delay until 2026 aligns with Apple's goal of ensuring the product meets its high standards and user expectations.
