Apple's iPhone 18 Pro Set to Feature Under-Display Face ID: Rumor Highlights

Rumors suggest iPhone 18 Pro will feature under-display Face ID in 2026, eliminating the need for cutouts while keeping the selfie camera visible.

Under-display Face ID Rumored for iPhone 18 Pro

According to industry veteran Ross Young, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature under-display Face ID in 2026. This development would eliminate the need for a large cutout on the screen, potentially leading to a single pinhole for the selfie camera. While the technology for placing the selfie camera under the display is not yet mature, the move could significantly reduce the dead pixel space and enhance the iPhone's design. The Dynamic Island, introduced in 2022 with the iPhone 14 Pro, currently consists of two separate cutouts: one for the selfie camera and another for Face ID components. Apple aims to maintain the security and functionality of Face ID when it is placed under the display.
