Apple's iPhone Fold: Crease-Free Future of Folding Phones?

Rumors suggest that Apple's upcoming iPhone Fold could solve the notorious crease issue plaguing other folding phones, potentially marking a significant leap in display technology.

A new supply chain report suggests that Apple has made significant advancements in reducing or eliminating the crease issue commonly found in folding displays. This improvement could potentially differentiate the iPhone Fold, expected to launch by 2027, from existing foldable phones. According to sources, production on the device might begin in the second half of 2025, with a release anticipated for the second half of 2026. Samsung Display is expected to supply the folding screen, while US firm Amphenol will provide the hinge mechanism. Despite ETNews's reputation for accuracy being questionable, Apple has been actively researching this technology and was granted a related patent in 2024.
