Apple's new Home products set to challenge longstanding rule – here's why
In the first half of 2025, Apple is predicted to release three new smart home devices including a smart display called 'HomePad', an updated HomePod mini and a refreshed Apple TV. If these products are successful, the company will reportedly launch its own smart home camera in 2026 followed by a video doorbell with lock integration. This expansion into making its own HomeKit accessories could challenge Apple's long-standing product rule of 'a thousand no's for every yes'.

Apple is set to launch three new Home products in 2025, including a smart display called 'HomePad', an updated HomePod mini, and a new Apple TV 4K. Following this, the company plans to release its own smart home camera and video doorbell with smart lock integration in 2026. This expansion into the smart home market challenges Apple's longstanding design principle of focusing on a select number of high-quality products.
