Apple's Next Big Thing: Exploring Personal Robotics with Advanced Home Devices

Apple's Next Skunkworks Project: Personal Robotics
Apple is reportedly working on a new skunkworks project focused on personal robotics, according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman. The project involves a mobile robot that can follow users around their homes and an advanced table-top device that uses robotics to move a display. This robo-monitor is further along in development but has been added and removed from Apple's product roadmap over the years.
The table-top device is described as having a display that mimics human head movements, such as nodding, during FaceTime sessions. It can also precisely lock onto a single person in a crowd during video calls. The project faces challenges, including setting a reasonable price and securing executive approval. Apple's interest in this area is fueled by the cancellation of its electric car project and ongoing investments in AI and smart home technology.
