Apple's Robotic Revolution: What to Expect from the Future of Smart Home Assistants

Apple is working on two robotics projects for the future Apple Home: a mobile humanoid robot and a stationary anthropomorphic robot with an iPad-like display attached to a robotic arm. The humanoid robot will assist with simple tasks and follow users around, while the anthropomorphic model will support video-conferencing and information display. Despite rumors suggesting an initial release in 2026 or 2027 for the latter, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts mass production in 2028. A prototype robotic lamp was showcased by Apple's Machine Learning Research Project, highlighting expressive and interactive capabilities. The final product is expected to integrate Siri, support generative AI interfaces, and serve as a media consumption device. Pricing for the iPad-like robot may be around $1000, but details on the humanoid model remain scarce. Both projects are in early development stages, with no guaranteed release.
