Apple's Studio Display Refresh Set to Make a Splash by 2026

Apple's Refreshed Studio Display Expected by 2026
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is developing a refreshed Studio Display, code-named J427, which is expected to launch by 2026. The current Studio Display was introduced in 2022 and has remained unchanged since then. This new model will likely be a companion to the upcoming M5 MacBook Pros.
Display supply chain expert Ross Young previously reported that Apple is working on a version of the Studio Display with mini-LED technology, which Gurman confirms. The successor to the current Studio Display will feature a similar design but enhanced features.
Gurman also notes that Apple’s Pro Display XDR, released in 2019, has been largely neglected and lacks modern features such as a webcam, built-in speakers, and an affordable stand. Despite this, a second-generation Pro Display XDR is not a priority for the company. However, Apple remains committed to the professional market with new Mac Pro and Mac Studio models in development.
Additionally, Gurman suggests that Apple will likely work on a larger-than-24-inch iMac at some point.
