Apple's Ultra-Thin iPhone 17 Slim to Feature Larger Display in 2027, Alongside Second-Gen Foldable

Apple plans to introduce an ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air or Slim with a larger screen in 2025, alongside the second-generation foldable iPhone.

Slim iPhone 17 Air or iPhone 17 Slim Expected in 2025

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple will debut an ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air or iPhone 17 Slim in 2025, featuring a larger screen than its predecessors. This launch will coincide with the second generation of the foldable iPhone, known as the iPhone Fold 2.

Release Schedule Predictions:

  • Second Half of 2025 (2H25): iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Slim, and iPhone 17.
  • First Half of 2026 (1H26): iPhone 17e.
  • Second Half of 2026 (2H26): iPhone Fold, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone 18 Slim.
  • First Half of 2027 (1H27): iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e.
  • Second Half of 2027 (2H27): iPhone Fold 2, iPhone 19 Pro, iPhone 19 Pro Max, and iPhone 19 Slim.

Kuo clarifies that this is a prediction rather than supply chain information. The iPhone 17 Slim will replace the iPhone 16 Plus in the lineup, offering a larger screen without the premium price of the Pro models. Further details on the screen size for the third-generation slim model are not yet available, but it is expected to be larger than its predecessors.

Kuo also notes that development on the iPhone Fold 2 has already begun, though no specific features have been revealed.
