ASUS Zenbook A14 Outshines MacBook Air in Five Surprising Ways
ASUS’s new Zenbook A14 not only mimics the iconic MacBook Air design but surpasses it in weight, material durability, display quality, bezel thinness, and battery life.
The ASUS Zenbook A14, a MacBook Air lookalike, surpasses Apple's design in several key areas while being priced lower than the 13-inch MacBook Air. Here are the five notable ways it outperforms its inspiration:
- Weight: The Zenbook A14 is lighter, weighing between 2.2 and 2.4 pounds, compared to the MacBook Air's 2.7 pounds.
- Casing Material: ASUS uses a proprietary material called Ceraluminum, which is 30% lighter and three times stronger than anodized aluminum. It undergoes rigorous testing for scratch resistance, shock resistance, and wear resistance.
- Display: The Zenbook A14 features an OLED screen, while the MacBook Air has an IPS LCD with miniLED backlighting. Apple is not expected to switch to OLED screens until 2028.
- Bezels: ASUS claims to have achieved thinner bezels on the sides of the screen compared to the MacBook Air.
- Battery Life: ASUS boasts a battery life of over 32 hours of continuous video playback, significantly more than Apple's claim of up to 18 hours.
