Beeper Unveils Sleek New Desktop and iOS Apps, Paving the Way for Enhanced Messaging Experience

Beeper Launches Revamped Desktop and iOS Apps in Beta
Beeper has announced the beta launch of its revamped desktop (Windows, macOS, and Linux) and iOS apps to match the updated design and functionality of its Android app, which was redeveloped following the termination of Beeper Mini by Apple. The new apps are now available for testing: the iOS app via TestFlight and the desktop apps through direct downloads from Beeper’s website.
Key features of the updated apps include:
- On-device encryption planned to be implemented in the future, enhancing user security by reducing reliance on Beeper’s cloud services.
- Multiple accounts support for the same service/network, allowing users to manage multiple profiles more efficiently.
- iMessage integration for macOS, which will be added in due course.
The development of these new apps has been underway since Automattic acquired Beeper in 2024. The desktop app leverages the foundations of the Texts desktop app, a result of the merger between the Beeper and Texts.com teams. This marks the first significant update from Beeper since Eric Migicovsky, the founder, left the company in 2024.
