Bigger Battery for Pixel 9a: Google's Mid-Range Phone Gets a Significant Power Upgrade

The upcoming Pixel 9a reportedly features a significantly larger battery despite maintaining the same size as its predecessor.

According to a new report from Android Headlines, the upcoming Pixel 9a will have a larger battery capacity of 5000mAh despite being roughly the same size as its predecessor, Pixel 8a which had a smaller 4492mAh battery. If this turns out to be accurate, the mid-range Pixel device would match the battery capacity of Google's current flagship model - the Pixel 9 Pro XL and will be considerably larger than the batteries found in the other Pixel devices like the Pixel 9 pro and 9 Pro fold. The report also suggests some camera changes, a radical redesign, and a much earlier release date for the device, though the smaller size difference between the two models raises questions on how Google plans to fit an 11% larger battery.
