Breathe Easy: Google Pixel Weather's New Pollen Tracker Hits US Shores

Stay ahead of allergy season with Google's new Pixel Weather pollen tracker, now available in the US.

Overview Google has expanded the availability of its Pixel Weather pollen tracker in the United States. The feature, which rolled out over the past few days, provides users with a new pill-shaped card that displays real-time pollen counts for grass, trees, and weeds. Each category is rated on a 0-4 scale: None, Low (green), Medium (yellow), High (orange), and Severe (red).

Features and Functionality

  • Glanceable Dials: The card features three dials that provide at-a-glance pollen information.
  • Five-Day Forecast: Tapping the card reveals a five-day forecast, with grass data always displayed first.
  • Seasonality and Cross-Reaction Information: Google includes notes on seasonal patterns and potential cross-reactions.
  • Customizable Placement: The Pollen card can be moved to any position in the city view by dragging it.

Availability

The new feature is now available in the US, joining other countries like the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, and Japan. To access the pollen tracker, ensure that Pixel Weather is updated to version 1.0.20250315.x and force stop the app if it's not visible.

Additional Updates

  • Date in 10-Day Forecast: Recent updates added the date to the 10-day forecast card.
  • Search Without Adding Cities: Users can now search for cities without automatically saving them.
