OpenAI expands ChatGPT's WhatsApp integration to support images and voice messages, enhancing accessibility for users without the app installed.

ChatGPT Integration in WhatsApp Now Supports Images and Voice Messages

OpenAI has expanded the integration of ChatGPT with WhatsApp, allowing users to interact with the AI chatbot through images and voice messages. Initially announced in December, this feature enables users to communicate with ChatGPT by starting a chat with the phone number 1-800-242-8478. This update aims to make ChatGPT more accessible, even for those without the app installed or an internet connection, as OpenAI also launched a ChatGPT phone line in December.

New Features and Future Plans

In addition to text-based conversations, the new integration supports image uploads and voice messages, enhancing user interaction. OpenAI is also working on linking OpenAI accounts with WhatsApp, which will be available soon for Free, Plus, and Pro users. The ChatGPT app is free on the iOS App Store, with a Mac version available on the OpenAI website.
