ChatGPT Search Launch: A Game-Changer in the World of Online Search

OpenAI formally launches ChatGPT search, offering a significant challenge to Google's dominance in the market. Initially available to paid users and those on the SearchGPT waitlist, the feature provides fast, up-to-date information with source links for further exploration.

OpenAI has officially launched its ChatGPT search feature, previously under testing as SearchGPT. The new feature aims to challenge the dominance of Google by providing fast and up-to-date answers with relevant web sources for topics ranging from sports scores to stock quotes.

ChatGPT search will be available initially for paid users and those who were on the waitlist but will eventually roll out to all users, including free users and logged-out visitors. ChatGPT will automatically choose when to perform a web search based on user queries or be manually activated by clicking on a web search icon.

The new search function includes specialized visuals for various content types such as sports scores, news articles, stocks, weather, and maps, providing links to the sources used in generating responses. OpenAI plans to enhance ChatGPT search with features like shopping improvements, travel-specific functionalities, deeper research capabilities, advanced voice support, and canvas support in future updates.
