Chrome 135 for Android Edges Closer to a Seamless Experience

Chrome 135 for Android will bring a more immersive, edge-to-edge experience by displaying the gesture handle navigation bar over web pages, enhancing modernization and visual appeal.

Edge-to-Edge Experience in Chrome for Android

Starting with Chrome 135 for Android, the browser will adopt an edge-to-edge design by extending web content into the gesture navigation bar area. This change aims to provide a more immersive and modern experience. The gesture handle will now appear above the web content when scrolling, while the address bar at the top remains visible when not scrolling. Chrome introduces a 'dynamic bottom bar' (referred to as 'the chin') that retracts as you scroll down, expanding the viewport and drawing web content up to the device's bottom edge.

This update is part of Chrome's journey towards a fullscreen experience on small-screen devices, with support for larger screens coming later. Version 135 is scheduled to roll out in the stable channel on April 1, although testing has already begun with earlier versions.
