Court Orders Removal of Login Box in WordPress vs WP Engine Dispute

The feud between WordPress co-creator Matt Mullenweg and website hosting platform WP Engine has taken a bizarre turn. The WordPress login now includes a checkbox requiring users to declare that they are not connected with WP Engine in any way, financially or otherwise. This move has caused some high-profile WordPress contributors to be locked out, including Javier Casares, Ryan McCue, Jono Alderson, Alex Sirota, and Andrew Hutchings. The conflict between the two organizations began over trademark licensing fees, with Mullenweg demanding millions of dollars from WP Engine.
