Customize Your Android Experience with the New Google Search Widget Shortcut

The Google app on Android has introduced a new feature allowing users to set a custom shortcut in the Search widget. This update, which was tested last year and is now widely available with version 16.3.34 of the Google app, provides nine options for shortcuts: None (for voice search and Google Lens only), Translate (text), Song Search, Weather, Translate (camera) via Google Lens, Sports, Dictionary, Homework (via Google Lens), and Finance. These shortcuts appear to the left of the microphone and camera icons on the 3x1 widget layout. This feature is available for both non-Pixel devices and Google phones and tablets, enhancing user convenience.
