Deep Research Debuts on Gemini Android App: Your Personal Research Assistant at Your Fingertips

Deep Research Feature Now Available in Gemini for Android
Deep Research, initially launched on the web in December, is now available within the Gemini app for Android users. This feature allows you to pose extended research questions and receive a detailed report after a 5-10 minute search process. The mobile UI mirrors the web version, with options to export reports to Google Docs. File upload and Gemini Live features are currently disabled.
Google first previewed Deep Research in August at Made by Google 2024 and officially launched it in December. The feature has now been widely rolled out on Android, though it is not yet available on the iOS app without a Gemini Advanced subscription.
Users are notified if they are nearing their daily research request limits. Additionally, recent updates include changes to Gemini Live notifications and the availability of Gemini Extensions on locked Android devices.
