'Deep Research': Gemini Advanced's First Agentic Feature – A Personalized Research Assistant

Gemini Advanced subscribers can now access a new 'Deep Research' feature, which creates a multi-step research plan and compiles comprehensive reports with key findings.

Gemini Advanced subscribers are getting access to a new 'Deep Research' capability, which is the first feature in Gemini that brings Google's vision of agents that can perform complex actions on your behalf. Users can ask Gemini a research question and it will create a multi-step plan, which they can revise. Once approved, Gemini searches the web, finds interesting pieces of information, starts new searches based on what it learned, and repeats this process multiple times while continuously refining its analysis. The end result is a comprehensive report organized into sections, with key findings, sources, related content, helpful insights, and a conclusion. This feature rolls out today in English for desktop and mobile web, and will come to the Gemini app in early 2025.
