Discover the Hidden Android Auto Trick for a Smoother Driving Experience with Google Maps

A handy trick in Google Maps on Android Auto allows users to easily look ahead on their route by swiping on the navigation directions. This gesture, which has been available for a few years but is not widely known, lets you see upcoming turns and steps while en route.
The feature was highlighted by a user on Reddit who pointed out that once you swipe forward through your remaining directions, Google Maps will skip ahead to show you the next step as well as turning the direction card grey instead of green. The UI element is not very prominent or intuitive, which may be why it's gone under the radar for many users.
In addition to this hidden trick, recent updates to Google Maps on Android Auto include improved lane guidance and support for incident reports.
