Discover Your Next Adventure with Gemini in Google Maps: Turning Screenshots into Saved Spots

Google is introducing several new features to aid in travel and trip planning using Maps, Search, and Hotels. A notable addition is the Gemini-powered Screenshots feature in Google Maps, which can identify places from your device's screenshots and suggest saving them. This feature will be available first for iOS users in the United States. Additionally, google.com/hotels will now track hotel prices and send alerts when prices drop significantly. AI Overviews in Google Search are expanding to offer trip ideas for regions and countries, not just cities. For example, you can ask Google to create an itinerary focused on nature for a country like Costa Rica. Furthermore, AI Overviews in Google Lens will support queries in multiple languages including Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. Google also recommends creating a free Gemini Gem to assist with trip planning.
