DuckDuckGo’s AI Features Officially Exit Beta: Enhanced Privacy and Customizable AI Chatbots

DuckDuckGo AI Features Exit Beta
-
AI Search Results (Assist): Initially launched as a beta feature in 2023, Assist is now out of beta and integrates information from more sources beyond Wikipedia. Users can customize how often they see AI-assisted answers, including the option to completely disable them.
-
Duck.ai (Private Chatbots): Also exiting beta, Duck.ai provides free, private access to a variety of AI models without requiring an account. Chats are anonymized and not used for AI training. Models include GPT-4o mini, Llama 3.3, Mistral Small 3, and Claude 3 Haiku.
-
Privacy Features: Both AI-assisted search and chat use proxying to protect users' identities, ensuring that personal information is never exposed to third parties. Recent chats can be stored locally on the user's device for added privacy.
