Enterprise Shift: Windows 10's End-of-Life Could Accelerate Mac Adoption in the Corporate World

Apple @ Work: The End of Windows 10 Could Give Apple a Major Boost in the Enterprise
According to IDC’s Q1 2025 data, Apple shipped 5.5 million Macs, marking a 14.1% year-over-year growth and securing an 8.7% share of the global traditional PC market. The overall PC market grew by 4.9%, driven by strong enterprise demand and early shipments to avoid new US tariffs.
A significant catalyst for Apple’s growth could be the end of Windows 10 support, scheduled for October 14, 2025. This deadline is driving IT departments to replace aging hardware that cannot run Windows 11. For organizations with existing Apple infrastructure or those moving towards cloud-based workflows, this presents an opportunity to consider expanding their use of macOS.
Apple Silicon has proven its worth in the enterprise with multi-year hardware support, fast performance, and strong security. The total cost of ownership for Macs is becoming more justifiable compared to new Windows PCs. With management tools already in place for iPhone and iPad, integrating more Macs can be a smoother process.
The end-of-life deadline for Windows 10 could force organizations to reconsider their device strategies, potentially leading to increased adoption of Apple devices in the enterprise.
