Exploring Android 16 Developer Preview 2: What's New?

The second developer preview of Android 16 is available today, and we are looking at DP2 to find what new features have been introduced. So far, this isn’t a big release.

The second developer preview of Android 16 is now available, with a number of new features and changes. These include a note-taking chat head, screen-off fingerprint unlock, and a Bluetooth battery ring. Several issues have been resolved in this update, such as a fix for narrow Settings toggles and an issue causing the Terminal app to display an error on launch. However, there are some known issues with the update, including simulated touch events failing while using ADB or accessibility services, and an issue with ongoing media notifications sometimes failing to launch the corresponding app.
