Final Cut Pro Gains Image Playground on Mac, Portrait Mode on iPad: A Creative Power-Up for Video Editors

Apple has released updates to its Final Cut Pro suite of applications for both macOS and iOS devices. The Mac version of Final Cut Pro (v11.1) introduces Image Playground, a feature powered by Apple Intelligence that allows users to generate images based on descriptions or people from the Photos Library. This requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 15.2 or later. Additional updates include color correction and effects for adjustment clips, new audio reverbs with Quantec QRS, multicam shoot improvements, and performance enhancements.
For iPad, Final Cut Pro (v2.2) now supports portrait orientation, Image Playground integration, and several keyboard shortcuts to improve editing workflows. The app also adds 50fps video capture. Subscription pricing for the iPad version is $4.99 monthly or $49 annually.
Final Cut Camera for iPhone (v1.2) introduces a 48mm telephoto lens option for iPhone 14 Pro and later models, 50fps recording, and enhanced Log video playback with an Apple Log LUT for accurate color correction on iPhone 15 Pro and later. Spatial Audio is supported on iPhone 16.
