Small Developer Assistance Fund Final Payouts
- Final Round of Payments: Starting this week, the third and final round of payments from the Small Developer Assistance Fund has begun going out to eligible US developers.
- Previous Rounds:
- Initial Payouts (Late 2022): Each eligible developer received at least $1000, which was up to 4x the projected minimum payout due to fewer claims than anticipated.
- Second Round (Late 2023): Distributed unclaimed funds from developers who couldn't provide a valid tax ID. Payouts ranged from $17 for those earning under $100 to $34 for those earning under $1000, with the max payout being around $2040.
- Third Round:
- Payout Amounts: $20.19 for those who earned under $100 and $40.39 for those who earned under $1000. Payouts presumably go as high as ~$2422 for developers earning over $1,000,000 annually.
- Settlement Details:
- Total Settlement: Over $100,000,000, benefiting more than 99% of US app developers.
- Payment Tiers: Based on annual App Store proceeds, with payouts ranging from $250 to $30,000.
- Eligibility:
- Developers who paid commissions to Apple between June 4, 2015, and April 26, 2021.
- Deadline: Checks will be void on April 21st, 2025.
