Fitbit App Restores Google Cast Support for Workout Videos

The latest update to the Fitbit app has brought back support for Google Cast, allowing users to stream workout videos to their TV. This feature was unexpectedly removed in December 2024, causing frustration among users who found it useful for following along with workouts on a larger screen.

With the update to version 4.35 of the Fitbit app for Android, the Cast icon has reappeared in the top corner of workout videos when a compatible device is detected on the network. According to Fitbit's forums, this version should restore Google Cast functionality, but users are advised to check for updates if they do not see the feature.

The restored functionality appears to be identical to what was available before, with no additional stats or features added. While there were earlier reports of deeper integration between Fitbit and Google TV, such improvements have yet to materialize more than two years after the initial announcement.
