Fitbit Labs, Powered by Personal Health LLM, Coming Later This Year

Fitbit Labs, powered by Personal Health LLM, will allow Fitbit Premium users to test experimental AI features later this year. It aims to provide personalized coaching capabilities and actionable guidance based on individual health and fitness goals.

Google Health has provided an update on Fitbit Labs at The Checkup 2024 event. The new Fitbit Labs, powered by a Personal Health Large Language Model (LLM), will allow Fitbit Premium users to test and give feedback on experimental AI features. One such feature is a chatbot that allows users to ask questions about their Fitbit data in a conversational way, aiming to provide personalized guidance and actionable messages. This LLM is built on Gemini models and fine-tuned using high-quality research case studies, enabling profound reasoning capabilities based on physiological and behavioral health signals. The model is being validated in partnership with accredited coaches and wellness experts and will power future AI features across Google's portfolio.
