Fitbit Refreshes Water Logging with Modern UI and Streamlined Functionality

Fitbit's Water logging page gets a modern redesign with new tabs and a streamlined interface, but some users might find the changes less convenient.

Fitbit is rolling out a new design for Water logging on the Fitbit app for Android, following a redesign of the Weight stats page in November. The updated interface includes four top tabs: Day, Week, Month, and Year, replacing the previous reverse-chronological list and providing clearer views of water intake over different periods. The 'Quick Add For Today' option has been removed from the main Water page, which may inconvenience some users who frequently log their water intake directly from this screen. However, users can still log water quickly using the floating action button (FAB) or via an app shortcut.

The 'Log water' screen accessed through the FAB now features default increments of 8 fl oz (Glass), 16 fl oz (Bottle), and 24 fl oz (Large bottle) with a plus/minus interface, along with an option to enter a custom amount. The date can also be adjusted above the log entry.

The redesign is currently being rolled out gradually through Fitbit version 4.38, but it relies on server-side components and has not yet been widely deployed. Future updates are expected to include improvements to Food logging and Health Metrics.
