Flicker Fix: Pixel 9a Selfie Camera Bug Causes Preview Issues in Low Light

A software glitch causes the Pixel 9a's front camera to flicker in low light, but photos taken are unaffected.

Pixel 9a Selfie Camera Bug

The front-facing camera of the Pixel 9a has a minor software bug that causes the image preview to flicker in low-light conditions. This issue is most noticeable when taking photos of dark or black objects, where users might observe gray or lightened flickering within the preview window. However, the actual photos taken are unaffected and come out perfectly fine.

The problem seems to be related to the auto Night Sight mode attempting to adjust for low-light conditions, causing the flicker in the preview. Uninstalling the latest Pixel Camera app update temporarily resolves the issue, reverting the camera to its normal behavior. Users can also send feedback to Google through the device settings.

While primarily affecting the Pixel 9a, some users have reported similar issues on other Pixel devices.
