Fortnite Nears Return to U.S. App Store After Epic Games Submission

Epic Games has submitted Fortnite for review in the U.S. App Store, marking a significant step toward its return after being absent since 2020 due to a dispute over Apple’s in-app purchase rules. The conflict escalated into a prolonged antitrust battle, culminating in a federal judge's ruling that prohibits Apple from blocking external payment links and applying high commissions on such transactions. Epic is now using an EU developer account for the submission process, which has faced delays, pushing back any potential launch to later in the week. CEO Tim Sweeney confirmed that the game will not return on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, as the development team continues to work on the update.
