Fossil has officially confirmed that it will not be making any more smartwatches based on Google's Wear OS, or at all. The company cites the evolving smartwatch landscape as the reason for its strategic decision to exit the smartwatch business. Fossil Group's Wear OS offerings extended through brands including Fossil, Citizen, Skagen, Diesel, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, and more. The company plans to redirect resources to support its core strength in designing and distributing traditional watches, jewelry, and leather goods.
