FOX Unveils New Streaming Service, Taps Former Apple TV+ Vet Pete Distad as CEO

FOX is set to change the game by launching a new streaming service led by Pete Distad, a former Apple TV+ veteran, bringing FOX’s renowned news, sports, and entertainment content directly to consumers outside the traditional cable bundle for the first time.

FOX, the last major US TV network without a direct-to-consumer streaming service, is set to launch its new platform later this year. Pete Distad, a former Apple TV+ veteran and former CEO of Venu Sports, has been appointed as the CEO of FOX’s upcoming streamer. The service aims to extend the reach of FOX News, FOX Sports, and the FOX broadcast network beyond the traditional cable bundle. Distad brings extensive experience in video, sports, and global distribution, having worked at Apple from 2013 to 2023, where he held various leadership roles. Despite the cancellation of Venu Sports, a joint venture that was halted due to a lawsuit, FOX is confident in Distad’s capabilities to build a unique and appealing streaming experience for viewers.
