Gemini App Brings 'Talk Live about this' to Pixel 9: A New Era in Interactive AI

Gemini's 'Talk Live about this' feature is now live on Pixel 9, allowing users to converse with the AI about images, files, and YouTube videos.

Following last week’s announcement, the 'Talk Live about this' feature from Gemini is now rolling out on Pixel 9 series devices. This update allows users to interact with images, files, and YouTube videos through voice commands. To use this feature, launch the floating Gemini overlay and select the appropriate option for your media type (e.g., 'Talk Live about video' in YouTube). For images, you need to upload them manually from your gallery or take a new picture using the 'plus' menu. Upon tapping, you'll see a preview of the content before engaging in conversation with Gemini Live.

Users can manage auto-submit settings by long-pressing any prompt and selecting 'Turn off/on auto-submit.' This feature is currently available on Pixel 9 devices running Google app version 16.3.32 (in beta) and will expand to Galaxy S24 and S25, with further Android rollouts planned in the coming weeks. The update paves the way for Project Astra, which will enable real-time screen sharing and video streaming during conversations with Gemini Live.
