Gemini App Brings Voice to Your Text: Audio Overviews Now Available on Android and iOS

The Gemini app now offers Audio Overviews for both Android and iOS users, transforming documents into engaging podcast-style discussions.

The Gemini app is rolling out a new feature called Audio Overviews for both Android and iOS users. This capability has already been available on the web for free and paid Advanced subscribers in English, with support for more languages planned. On mobile, users can generate an Audio Overview by uploading a document or slideshow, or via the overflow menu in Deep Research reports. After requesting, it takes a few minutes to generate, after which Google will send a notification. Interestingly, the app lacks its own audio player and instead opens the audio file in a browser tab using the default system player. These podcasts aim to summarize material, draw connections between topics, and provide unique perspectives, though they are based solely on the uploaded content and not real-world knowledge.
