A bug in the Gemini app has caused issues with generating Audio Overviews for uploaded files, leading to an error message stating 'I cannot generate an audio overview because I do not have the capability to create audio files.' Despite this, users can still receive text summaries and engage in live discussions about their documents. The issue affects PDFs uploaded through both 2.0 Flash and 2.5 Pro (experimental) versions on Android and the web. While Podcasts in NotebookLM are unaffected, there is a call for Google to add a native audio player to the mobile apps. Additionally, Google has announced that Audio Overviews will soon be available in Google Docs.
