Gemini App Goes Solo: Chat Without a Google Account

Gemini app now lets you chat without signing in, offering a quick taste of AI assistance.

As of March 18, 2025, the Gemini app is now accessible without requiring a Google Account sign-in. Users can visit gemini.google.com in Incognito Mode or similar and directly access the chat interface, where they can enter prompts and receive responses. The app suggests various prompts such as 'Save me time,' 'Write an essay on the history of chess,' 'Help me plan,' and 'Give me study tips.' For signed out users, the greeting is 'Meet Gemini, your personal AI assistant,' similar to Google Search. However, features like uploading files and accessing chat history still require a sign-in. The model picker for newer Gemini models and experimental features is available but also requires signing in. The Gemini app on Android continues to require a logged-in account.
