Gemini app on iPhone update adds model picker for 2.0 Flash

The Gemini app on iPhone now lets you select the experimental 2.0 Flash model for advanced features

The Gemini app on iPhone has received an update that includes a model picker for the newly released 2.0 Flash Experimental option, following its rollout on Android devices. The updated app offers users three selection options: 1.5 Pro, 1.5 Flash, and 2.0 Flash Experimental. The newly added experimental feature is noted to be twice as fast as the previous model and may perform better in key benchmarks. However, this version may not work as expected and currently does not support file upload.

Additionally, two new extensions have been introduced: Google Home and Google Photos integration. These updates aim to enhance user experience by providing seamless access to smart home devices and personal photos directly from the Gemini app.

The app also provides users with 'Saved info' available at gemini.google.com/saved-info, a feature which can be accessed through the account menu. Non-Gemini Advanced users are now provided with conversation starters above the text field.

Lastly, the app's language support has been expanded by including 11 additional languages for general app use and an enhanced offering of supported languages on Gemini Live.
