Gemini Homescreen Redesign Simplifies User Experience on Android

The redesign simplifies the homescreen by replacing the 'Gemini' or 'Gemini Advanced' logo with a greeting and moving the text field elements into one line.

Google is rolling out a redesign of the Gemini app on Android that simplifies the homescreen. The new design replaces the previous "Gemini" or "Gemini Advanced" logo with a simple greeting and moves the chat history to a bubble icon in the top-left corner.

The text field has been condensed to one line, similar to when you're in a conversation, shortening the prompt to "Type, talk, or share a photo." The redesign is now widely available across both paid and free Gemini accounts on Android, but not yet on iOS. The simplicity of the design is reminiscent of the Google Search homepage.
